Profiting From Spare Capacity

The Challenge.

A US electronic component manufacturer had spare production capacity in its factories and asked us to match its capabilities with gaps in the market it might address.

Our Approach.

We visited their facilities and got to understand the business, its objectives and current pain points.  We audited their capabilities and identified 10 possible products that could close a market gap. These were prioritised in a joint workshop with our customer. We undertook product specification and performance simulation work and conducted tutorials to bring the company’s engineers up to speed on the new technologies.

Our Impact.

In addition to upskilling the customer’s workforce to take them to the next phase of their production roadmap, our sister company then worked with the business to develop the technology for the new product line.
